I was introduced to the music of Trophii yesterday having a cigarette with my neighbor Christian, who happens to drum for this Sacramento-based Dream-Pop Indie Rock duo. It was one of those really good cigarettes…

Anyway — Trophii makes moody, rhythmically propulsive, melodically driven songs to get lost in. The duo consists of vocalist/multi-instrumentalist, Lindsey Pavao, and guitarist/multi-intrumentalist/producer, Richie Smith. They began the writing and the pre-production process for their debut LP in early July 2014 and are excited to release this record at a Le Twist event at LowBrau on Tuesday, December 6th…right around the corner!

Trophii says…

“Everything on our record was recorded at our (my and Lindsey’s) small downtown apartment aside from the acoustic drums… Our single, ‘Itch’ is the first track off our debut album. This version of the song is actually the second version (since the first completed version was lost when our computers hard drive crashed). We completed the second, and final version within a 2 week period after we lost the original version. We will be releasing another single from our record on November 25th!”

Don’t miss Trophii at LowBrau on December 6th and be sure to listen to their single “Itch” below!

I grew up in Sacramento in a time where there was no young entertainment company like HOF to look up to. I met Tony in LA while I was managing LBCK in Long Beach. I kind of knew Damian from middle school. And I didn't know Byron even though we went to the same middle school. But when we first started partying together in 2011, it just made sense for me...someone who's passionate about the business side of music...to align with them...who're passionate about the business side of events. I believe what I'm doing here...running the site and the social media and the artist management/publicity and the label...is creating a means to better spotlight and support the emerging artists we truly believe in. They say no one's ever "made it" out of Sacramento. It's my ultimate mission to change that. As our boy Marcus says, "We're bringing Sacramento to The World...and we're bringing The World to Sacramento."
