That Kid Raja is a name I’ve heard here in Sacramento. Never heard his music though till he hit me up recently. He absolutely blew my mind with this one, “Krank Me Up.” This shit is a hit. Not many artists on this planet can turn rock into good hip-hop…the last time I think I honestly enjoyed something like this was N.E.R.D.’s “Lapdance”…and that’s really the only thing I can compare this to. In fact, he says…

“I created this song as a soundtrack for when I jog along the American River Trails and for when working out at the gym. I wanted the song to have a 1970’s hard rock feel mixed with a positive Northern California energy. I’m a big fan of Pharrell and his rock group, N.E.R.D, along with Mike Shinoda’s side project, Fort Minor as well. So this song is definitely influenced by those artists along with A Tribe Called Quest, which all my songs to a certain extent are influenced by ATCQ. The song was produced, mixed and engineered by DJ Deryck D right here in Sacramento. Real guitars and bass were provided by Rob McCord and finally the song was mastered by Rodney Mills in Atlanta, Georgia. All co-production, original song concept, lyrics and vocals are by me…”

Big big big ups to That Kid Raja for this one.

I grew up in Sacramento in a time where there was no young entertainment company like HOF to look up to. I met Tony in LA while I was managing LBCK in Long Beach. I kind of knew Damian from middle school. And I didn't know Byron even though we went to the same middle school. But when we first started partying together in 2011, it just made sense for me...someone who's passionate about the business side of music...to align with them...who're passionate about the business side of events. I believe what I'm doing here...running the site and the social media and the artist management/publicity and the label...is creating a means to better spotlight and support the emerging artists we truly believe in. They say no one's ever "made it" out of Sacramento. It's my ultimate mission to change that. As our boy Marcus says, "We're bringing Sacramento to The World...and we're bringing The World to Sacramento."
